Frequently asked questions
Yes , I do! Although the focus of my website is pet portraits, I have indeed completed several "people" portraits. In fact, some are available to view, within the Gallery section of this site! If you are interested in this kind of work, please contact me directly, via the contact form on the site, or by emailing me directly, at support@stamperdesigns.com
If you have a black and white image, please reach out to me prior to ordering. I will obtain the photo and attempt to colorize, to meet your pets specific color. Or if you want a black and white oil portrait or black and white pencil drawing, go ahead and process the order through. I can certainly handle that easily for you.
Upon ordering, we'll obtain photos from you. We'll either reach out to you directly, or you an email them to us as well, at support@stamperdesigns.com. Title the email as follows: "Order# XXXXX, Photos of "Pets Name" and in the body, please add your contact information, phone number, address, and any additional information you like to pass along. Please then attach the photos and send it our way.
• Make sure the photo is taken in good lighting, outdoor daylight is best, in the morning or evening, when the sun isn't creating heavy shadows
• Try to take the photo at eye level with your pet
• They don't need to be looking at the camera, however, if you want a front facing pet portrait, try to send a couple photos with them looking at the camera
• Try to get a close up so we can see your pet's unique features. If we are doing full body, make sure to get Head to Feet. Also, take on ahard surface, like concrete or driveway.
• Make sure the photo is not blurry
• Make sure no features (e.g. ears!) are out of frame. I can paint new ears, however, they may not be a perfect match. So, try to get all parts of your pet in frame.
• Ensure that the fur color in the photo is not affected by bad lighting. If the fur in the photo is not accurate to real life, the fur in the design won't be either
I will personally check photos as orders are placed. If there's an issue with your photo, I'll let you know very quickly via email.
If we do need a new photo from you, this may lengthen your delivery time by a few days.
All examples on our website were produced using high quality photos.
I am a digital artist, meaning I don't use traditional paints. This saves both time and money, however, the results are none-the-less, spectacular. While my digital art will average between $120-$150 for a single pet portrait, a traditional oil painting may cost you upwards of $1000 or more. As a digital design studio and artist, I use a range of proprietary photo editing techniques, professional photo re-touching, as well as, a number of complex brush strokes, digital painting techniques and blending processes to turn your original photo into a one of kind pet portrait for all to cherish.
If you find that you need to make a change to your order, please email support@stamperdesigns.com and I will do my best to accommodate. However, please let me know as soon as possible, and before I begin the portrait process. Once I am heavy into a print, there may be a slight charge to redo, resize, or change composition. Additionally, once a print is 100% complete, no changes can be made, however, even then I may be able to assist. I want you to be 100% satisfied with my work, so I'll bend over backwards to make sure that happens.
Yes in most cases, I can remove a collar, tears, drool, teeth stains, etc. However, I'd rather NOT have to do that. In some cases, such as a pet that has crossed over, I 100% understand that obtaining additional photos may not be an option. In that case, I will do my very best to design the portrait to your specifications. At the time of your order, please add any specific requests and I'll do my best to accommodate.
For some of the portraits (oil and colored pencil) yes you can! Just specify what color you're looking for (example, light pink) and we'll add that color to your portrait. For Pop Art portraits, the backgrounds and final results will vary widely, based on the techniques used. Additionally, for almost all portraits, I will add a faux canvas background to give it texture, incorporating the color you've selected.
